No confirmation on Allardyce

Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce’s appointment as England boss has moved a step closer but won’t be confirmed until Friday.
Allardyce was at Sunderland’s training ground on Thursday, while the club continue to negotiate compensation with the Football Association.
Meanwhile, at Wembley, the FA held a meeting where Allardyce’s appointment was ratified by board members, although it is yet to be confirmed.
Outgoing FA chairman Greg Dyke confirmed that a three-man selection panel will recommend Allardyce and are confident he is the right man for the job.
