Pyromaniac to miss Galway Hurdle

Pyromaniac will miss the Galway Festival despite trainer Tony Martin being successful in an appeal against a punishment handed out at Killarney earlier this month.
Martin’s 2,000 euro fine for using the racecourse as a schooling ground was quashed but Pyromaniac’s 42-day ban still stands, after he finished sixth in the McSweeney Arms Hotel (QR) Race.
During Martin’s evidence to the appeal board, it was found the horse had a problem with his teeth which it was ruled would have harmed his chances of winning. He was fined 1,000 euro.
