Varian’s ‘heartbreaking’ call

Roger Varian says the “heartbreaking” decision to withdraw Postponed from the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes was made in the long-term interests of the horse.
The gifted five-year-old was hot favourite to bring home the double in the big race at Ascot on Saturday, but he will not run because of a respiratory infection.
