The Giants still don’t have a second-half win

The San Francisco Giants have opened the second half on a five-game losing streak, tied for their longest losing streak this season.
They ended the first half with the best record in the majors and have been swept in their first two series of the second half. Elias research shows they are the first team to lose its first five games of the second half after ending the first half with the best record in the majors since the 1991 Dodgers, who lost their first seven games in the second half.
That Dodgers team didn’t make the playoffs.
Starters are letting them down
Giants starting pitchers have allowed at least four earned runs in each of their second-half starts. In their last seven starts entering the All-Star Break, they hadn’t allowed more than two runs in a game.
