‘Terrible’ Teixeira back in the Yankees lineup

NEW YORK — Mark Teixeira, who missed three games after fouling a ball off his left foot during Saturday’s loss to the Boston Red Sox, was back in the New York Yankees lineup for Wednesday night’s game against the Baltimore Orioles.
While his foot has improved, the Yankees first baseman said it was time for his numbers to start healing, too.
“This has been brutal,” said Teixeira, whose .186 batting average and .568 OPS are the lowest among Yankees regulars. “I’ve been terrible. The only thing I can do the last two months is try to be healthy and get hot. I live off my hot streaks. I haven’t had one yet this year. Hopefully I can stay on the field. That’s the first thing, and help this team win some games.”
