Gomez no to Besiktas move

Germany striker Mario Gomez will not be returning to Turkey with Besiktas because of last week’s failed coup in the country.
Gomez scored 28 goals in 41 games last season and helped Besiktas win the Turkish title after joining the club on loan from Serie A side Fiorentina.
But the 31-year-old says he will not be taking up the option of a permanent move to the Istanbul club because of last Friday’s military coup.
