Yelich homers, then lifts Marlins in 10th

PHILADELPHIA — The Marlins are applying a little pressure to the Nationals in the National League East.

Miami beat the Phillies, 2-1, in 10 innings on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park to move within 4 1/2 games of the first-place Nationals. Marlins shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria doubled against Phillies right-hander David Hernandez to start the 10th. Christian Yelich then ripped a two-out single to left field against left-hander Daniel Stumpf to score the go-ahead run.

The Phillies, who have lost four of five games since the All-Star break, could not come up with the big hit for the second consecutive night. They stranded a runner on third in the sixth and left the bases loaded in the seventh.
