Bautista tentatively to return Monday

PHOENIX — Jose Bautista is nearing a return from a hyperextended big toe on his left foot and is tentatively scheduled to rejoin the Blue Jays on Monday.
Bautista will begin a rehab assignment with Class A Dunedin on Wednesday. He will remain there for just one day before traveling Buffalo to continue his progression in anticipation of a return.
The veteran slugger is expected to play three games for the Bisons before possibly being activated from the 15-day disabled list in time for a series opener against the Padres on Monday. Bautista has been out since June 16 with turf toe.
