Triggs to DL; A’s recall lefty Coulombe

OAKLAND — The A’s placed right-hander Andrew Triggs on the disabled list with a left shin contusion Tuesday, leading them to call on left-hander Daniel Coulombe from Triple-A Nashville to take over long-relief duties out of the bullpen.
Additionally, utility man Tyler Ladendorf returned to Nashville to make room for Tuesday starter Dillon Overton, leaving the A’s without a backup middle infielder.
“We have some versatile guys, and who knows how long it’s for, but we really did need an arm,” A’s manager Bob Melvin said. “We were under the gun yesterday, and we’re going to be under the gun again [Tuesday].
