Konrad Bukowiecki breaks world U20 shot put record in Bydgoszcz

Konrad Bukowiecki broke the world U20 shot put record on home soil on the first day of the IAAF World U20 Championships.
The 19-year-old threw the 6kg implement 23.34m in the third round of the competition in Bydgoszcz, Poland, to retain his title and better the previous record mark of 23.00m which had been set by New Zealand’s Jacko Gill in 2013.
Romania’s Andrei Toader threw a 22.30m PB for silver and USA’s Bronson Osborn 21.27m for bronze.
Kenya’s Rodgers Kwemoi was also in record-breaking form as he clocked 27:25.23 to claim the 10,000m title in a championship record.
