Zimmer has thoracic outlet syndrome, out for season

Right-hander Kyle Zimmer, the Royals’ No. 2-ranked prospect according to MLBPipeline.com, has been diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome and will miss the remainder of the season.
Zimmer, the Royals’ first-round Draft in 2012, will have surgery in a couple of weeks, assistant general manager J.J. Picollo said on Tuesday.
Royals right-hander Chris Young was one of the first Major League players to be diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome in 2013. More recently, the Mets’ Matt Harvey and the Twins’ Phil Hughes have been diagnosed. Harvey had season-ending …
