Kendrys day to day with right foot contusion

KANSAS CITY — After fouling a pitch off the laces on his right foot in the fifth inning, Royals designated hitter Kendrys Morales was eventually replaced by pinch-hitter Christian Colon in a 7-3 win over the Indians on Monday night.
Colon delivered the tying two-run double that sparked a seven-run eighth inning as the Royals moved to seven games back of the first-place Indians.
Morales was officially diagnosed with a contusion on his right foot. He underwent X-rays, but the Royals announced that everything came back negative.
