ATP WASHINGTON and UMAG: Leonardo Mayer wins first match since May, Bedene stunned by the world number 761!

ATP 500 Washington (Outdoor Hard) :
The matches in Washington were late due to rain and only 4 have been finished so far. The qualifier from Australia, James Duckworth, took down Tim Smyczek 7-5 6-1, saving 2 break points and breaking the American 3 times. As the match progresses, James played better and better, to come out as a deserved winner in the end. Another Aussie booked his place in the second round, John Millman, who defeated another American, Denis Kudla by 7-5 6-0. Millman lost only 4 points behind the first serve and he finished the match in great style, winning the last 8 games of the match! In the shortest match of the day, Daniel Evans bested German veteran Benjamin Becker by 6-2 6-1 in just 49 minutes, being the dominant figure on the court and converting almost every longer rally in his favor. Following his good results when he still was outside the Top 500, Nikola made entered the best 300 in that 2014, but instead of going further towards the top, he was forced to miss the whole 2015, starting his comeback on Futures, and also unranked.
