Manhattan Beach farewell for Olympic champion Todd Rogers

Manhattan Beach, Calif., USA, July 17, 2016 – It took Todd Rogers nearly four years to win his first Association of Volleyball Professionals tournament. It took him almost six years to capture his first FIVB World Tour gold medal.
When he played the last match of his Beach Volleyball career Saturday in the AVP Manhattan Beach Open, Rogers could look back on 80 tournament victories, two Olympic appearances and one Olympic gold medal.
Rogers, 42, has announced his retirement and was honored during a ceremony for him between Sunday’s championship matches in Manhattan, the legendary tournament he won three consecutive times from 2006-2008.
