Indians’ Gomes put on DL, will miss 4-8 weeks

Cleveland Indians catcher Yan Gomes has been diagnosed with an A/C joint separation of his right shoulder and will be out approximately four to eight weeks, the team announced.
The team officially placed Gomes on the disabled list Monday but said that surgery, at this point, is not required.
The team activated catcher Roberto Perez to replace Gomes on the roster. Perez had been at Triple-A Columbus, rehabbing from a broken right thumb.
