ATP RANKINGS 06-06-2016: Djokovic more than 8000 points ahead of Murray, Thiem cracks Top 10
- Updated: June 6, 2016
After his historic victory at Roland Garros yesterday, Novak Djokovic has won additional 800 points (he lost in the final last year) for the total tally of almost surreal 16950 points, 8035 points clear ahead of 2nd-ranked Andy Muray! This is the 202nd week at the top of the ATP rankings for Novak, and he will need around 16 months to catch Jimmy Connors and Ivan Lendl in 3rd and 4th place before the final chase towards Pete Sampras and Roger Federer. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Marin Cilic are now out of the Top 10, with David Goffin in 11th waiting patiently for his breakthrough in the elite group. Despite the huge number of points at players disposal in Paris, there were no new names inside the Top 20, and Lucas Pouille is the only new player who made Top 30. After reaching his first Grand Slam quarter-final, Albert Ramos-Vinolas is one happy camper, …
