Matt Harvey outing provides solace in Mets’ loss to Marlins

MIAMI — Once in a while there is such a thing as a feel-good loss. Or, at least, a defeat with a considerable silver lining.
Jose Fernandez had his way with a depleted New York Mets lineup on Sunday as the Miami Marlins avoided a three-game sweep with a 1-0 victory
Still, Matt Harvey nearly went toe to toe with Fernandez. And given the depths of the Dark Knight’s struggles at points this season, his performance certainly tempered the sting of defeat.
Coming off an outing in which he blanked the Chicago White Sox for seven innings, Harvey added another four innings to his scoreless streak on Sunday before finally flinching. He surrendered a one-out double off the right-center wall to Derek Dietrich in the fifth. JT Realmuto followed with an RBI single.
