Toronto recalls Dominguez, options Tepera

BOSTON — The Blue Jays recalled infielder Matt Dominguez from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday morning and optioned right-hander Ryan Tepera to the Minor Leagues.
The move came just two days after manager John Gibbons said his club intended to stick with an eight-man bullpen. That stance understandably changed when third baseman Josh Donaldson aggravated a right thumb injury in Friday’s 5-2 victory over the Red Sox.
Donaldson was in the lineup Sunday afternoon, but instead of getting the start at third base, the Blue Jays eased him back at designated hitter. Prior to the addition of Dominguez, Toronto would have been left without a backup infielder off the bench, with the exception of first baseman …
