Yo remains day to day, could return Monday

MIAMI — A day after he was a late scratch with a sore right hip, outfielder Yoenis Cespedes felt better, but he was still not in the Mets’ starting lineup for their series finale against the Marlins. Cespedes remains day to day, and he could return to the lineup as soon as Monday in Pittsburgh.
The Mets were also awaiting an update late Sunday morning on fellow outfielder Juan Lagares, who was due to see an orthopedist regarding his bruised left thumb. Lagares injured the digit making a diving catch in the sixth inning of Saturday’s win.
With those two shelved, and David Wright, Lucas Duda and Travis d’Arnaud all on the disabled list for the foreseeable …
