2016 Junior Roland Garros: Felix Auger-Aliassime and Geoffrey Blancaneaux to fight for the title

In the blockbuster clash between two most prominent players born in 2000, Felix Auger-Aliassime defeated Nicola Kuhn 6-4 6-2 to reach the final of the junior Roland Garros. Thus, Felix will have a chance to become the youngest winner of this tournament ever and to grab the number 1 spot in the junior rankings, replacing Stefanos Tsitsipas in that position. This was mainly the baseline battle with already very strong groundstrokes on both sides, but Auger-Aliassime just did everything better. He was untouchable on his first serve, winning 27 from 30 points, and he never faced a break point in the entire match. On the other side, Kuhn could not match that numbers and he was broken 3 times from 4 opportunities he gave to his Canadian rival. Both players were secure in the opening 4 games but Kuhn got broken in game 5, despite having a game point. This was all that Felix needed, as he served well enough to keep his games safe. There was some drama in the last 10th game, but he converted his 5th set point to clinch the opener 6-4. In the second set, Canadian served even better, losing just 4 points in his game, and it was just a matter of time when he will break his opposer. He wasn’t waiting for too long, as Kuhn lost his serve in games 3 and 5, managing to win only two games in the second set.
