When asked if the Gunners had triggered the forward’s £20 million release clause, Foxes chief Ranieri told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Sun’s Alec Shilton): “It’s all true.”

According to the report, Vardy will undergo a medical with Arsenal on Sunday, rushed along so the player can then concentrate on his Euro 2016 campaign with England, beginning next Saturday.

Speculation over Vardy’s future has been rife since the striker’s form led Leicester to last season’s Premier League title triumph, and broadcaster Stan Collymore has said the move will be a good one for most parties:
