Promising Swede Carl Soderlund will join Virginia Cavaliers this fall

Precisely on his 19th birthday, Carl Söderlund from Stockholm, Sweden, has agreed to join the defending champions Virginia Cavaliers this fall, getting a chance to compete with the best collegiate players and also a high-quality education. Tall guy (188 cm) born in 1997 has already won two Futures titles, having a career-best ranking this week, standing at 620th place. He played 11 Futures so far in a career and he also gets the opportunity to experience some ATP level atmosphere, competing in the qualifications for Bastad and Stockholm. He didn’t play in too many ITF junior events, never entering Top 250 at that level. Carl showed his potential in 2011 at U14 tournaments, beating the players like Oliver Anderson and Kenneth Raisma, and also in 2014 in lower-ranked U18 ITF events.
