Miami Open in the calendar at least until 2017: ‘We will be in Crandon Park as long as we can’

Miami Open is saved at least until 2017, but the future for this tournament is very uncertain. The ATP/WTA event wants to upgrade the complex of the Crandon Park tennis center, but cannot do it because the owners, Matheson family, are contemplating in relocating the tournament entirely despite that the owners are contracted to an eight-year agreement to have the tournament in the Miami-Dade County, where the event’s held annually.
