White Sox facing important stretch vs. AL Central

DETROIT — A seven-game White Sox losing streak came to an end Tuesday night against the Mets at Citi Field, and it was followed by a six-series losing streak concluding in 13 innings on Wednesday afternoon.
But those skids didn’t disappear quietly, as much as the White Sox changed momentum with a four-run comeback and then Matt Albers’ hitting heroics backing up eight scoreless innings of relief. Now the South Siders need to build on that success against the American League Central. They entered Comerica Park on Friday with a 9-9 record against division opponents, but they are 2-8 over their last 10 games, which came against the Royals and Indians. Twelve of the White Sox next 15 games will come against the AL Central.
“These guys know you as well as anybody and you know them as well as anybody,” White Sox leadoff man and right fielder Adam Eaton said. “It’s definitely more difficult to take ones from divisional opponents. But we need to do that. We didn’t do that in Kansas City.”
