Tribe prepared to react with 14th pick in Draft

CLEVELAND — With summer around the corner, the Indians are getting in the thick of the baseball season. Meanwhile the organization’s staff is focusing on the club’s future beyond the 2016 season.

Prior to Friday’s clash with the Royals, Indians director of amateur scouting Brad Grant sat in the home dugout and answered questions regarding the upcoming MLB Draft, which take places June 9-11.

“I think this year’s Draft is a good Draft,” Grant said. “We should get a player we really like. Up top there is not a whole lot of certainty. I think once things play out on top, we should get a really good player.”

The Indians own the 14th overall selection in the first round and have a total of four picks in the Top 100. Cleveland holds the 55th overall pick in the second round, 72nd overall pick in the Lottery …
