Mamani to take Marsili’s spot against Zlaticanin

Lightweight contender Dejan Zlaticanin will face late replacement Franklin Mamani for a vacant world title June 11 at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York, promoter Lou DiBella announced.
Mamani (21-2-1, 12 KOs) accepted the fight Thursday, one day after Italy’s Emiliano Marsili (32-0-1, 14 KOs), the former European champion, withdrew from the bout because of a stomach ailment and fever.
The bout will open a Showtime-televised tripleheader (9 p.m. ET) that’s headlined by former junior welterweight titlist Ruslan Provodnikov (25-4, 18 KOs), in the first fight of his Showtime contract, taking on fellow brawler John Molina (28-6, 23 KOs).
