Logan could return to ‘pen Monday

DENVER — Left-handed reliever Boone Logan threw his first bullpen session Thursday since landing on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 18 with left shoulder inflammation and is on track to rejoin the team around the start of the Rockies’ series against the Dodgers on Monday.
Logan said he threw about 20 pitches, mixing both his fastball and his slider throughout the session.
“The bullpen [session] went good,” Logan said. “Everything feels 10 times better. I feel strong, and I’ve got a rehab game Saturday [for Triple-A Albuquerque]. Hopefully that’s the only one I’ll have, and I’ll meet up with the team in LA.”
Rockies manager Walt Weiss didn’t see the bullpen session, but he had heard earlier that Logan is feeling much better. He said the coaching staff will play it by ear whether or not Logan will need a second rehab appearance.
