Sox likely going with 4-man rotation for now

BALTIMORE — A day after the Red Sox optioned starter Joe Kelly to Triple-A Pawtucket, manager John Farrell said Thursday that the club could go with a four-man rotation until the middle of June.
“I’ve taken another look or two at that,” Farrell said. “We could go a ways out. There’s one scenario that has until the 18th of June as being the next need for a fifth starter.”
Following a three-game series against the Blue Jays this weekend at Fenway Park, the Red Sox have three days off over an eight-day span from June 6-13.
The scheduling offers Farrell the opportunity to carry four starters …
