Mireia Belmonte Bypasses Barcelona MN In Search Of Rio Olympic Marathon Berth

Spanish ace Mireia Belmonte is bypassing the Mare Nostrum Tour in favour of taking in the 10km last-chance Olympic qualification marathon event off the Portuguese coast at Setubal on June 11-12.
The double Olympic silver medallist at London 2012 arrived in the same city last month unrested for the European Championships off the back of three weeks at altitude in Font Romeu. She claimed two silvers (1500m free; 4x200m) and a bronze (400m free) but there was no let up in preparation for Rio.
