UFC Fight Night Medical Suspensions: Caraway Facing 6 Months Out with Shoulder, Lumbar Pain

Bryan Caraway was one of the biggest winners on Sunday’s UFC Fight Night card, but the bantamweight contender could be sidelined for up to six months with injuries sustained at the event. Sherdog.com on Wednesday received a list of medical suspensions from the Nevada Athletic Commission, which regulated the May 29 show at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. Caraway, 31, was noted to have left shoulder and lumbar pain following his split-decision victory against previously unbeaten prospect Aljamain Sterling. As a result, Caraway must receive clearance from an orthopedic doctor or else face suspension until Nov. 26. At a minimum, “Kid Lightning” will serve a one-month mandatory suspension until June 29, with no contact in training until June 20.
