Velodrome is only Olympics facility behind schedule

LAUSANNE (AFP) — With two months to go before the Rio Games begin, the far from finished Olympic cycling track is the only installation running late, organizers insisted on Wednesday.
President of the Olympic organizing committee Carlos Nuzman made the claim in response to fears raised by the UCI chief Brian Cookson.
“Mr Cookson is right, but the velodrome is the only Olympic installation running late,” said Nuzman after the Rio Town Hall broke off the contract of the building firm it claims is responsible and appointed another.
