Mats Wilander: ‘I won all for my father, after that I lost interest for tennis’

There was an interesting Q&A session between Mats Wilander and L’Equipe where The former Swedish player shared a few memories of his career.
Asked about The toughest player he ever faced, Wilander replied, “Boris Becker in the Davis Cup final in 1985, in Munich, on carpet. He was super quick that day. He kicked my ass (6-3, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3). And I can tell you it hurt. The truth is, I was afraid of him.” Wilander then continued and shared that John McEnroe was the funniest player, he’d ever played. “John McEnroe. I’m played him on the senior tour in Naples. I didn’t hit the ball, I just pushed it back. After four games, Mac looked at me in the corner and said, “OK, we’re back in the juniors. then?” I couldn’t believe my ears. I doubled over laughing.
