LeMahieu, Parra, CarGo fall 3B shy of cycle

DENVER — DJ LeMahieu, Gerardo Parra, and Carlos Gonzalez all fell a triple short of hitting for the cycle in the Rockies’s 17-4 drubbing of the Reds.
LeMahieu nearly had it, but he missed out on history by inches. LeMahieu lined a sixth-inning pitch from Daniel Wright that Reds right fielder Jay Bruce dove for and barely knocked down. The ball squirted away from Bruce, but not far enough to allow LeMahieu to make the turn to third base.
