Ichiro passes Hall of Famer, then sparks Marlins

MIAMI — On top of scoring the Marlins’ first run Tuesday night that broke a scoreless tie against the Pirates, Ichiro Suzuki also achieved another milestone in the 3-1 win at Marlins Park.
With his two-hit performance, the 42-year-old now has 2,963 career hits, moving him past Hall of Famer Sam Crawford for 31st on Major League Baseball’s all-time list. Ichiro is now 37 hits shy of 3,000.
