Mookie posts first 3-HR game of career

BALTIMORE — Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts opened Tuesday night’s 6-2 win over the Orioles with a home run, added a three-run shot in the second and a solo homer in the seventh for the first three-homer game of his career.

With a chance to become the first Red Sox player to hit four homers in one game, Betts grounded out to second leading off the ninth. He’s the first Red Sox leadoff hitter to go deep three times in one game since at least 1913.
