Davis deserves All-Star support after May mashing

OAKLAND — The A’s don’t have any players among the leading vote-getters for the 2016 All-Star Game, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t worthy candidates.
Consider Khris Davis, who entered Tuesday with 14 home runs, tied for second most in the Majors. The outfielder managed just three in his first month in green and gold before busting out for 11 in May.
Breaking through on the ballot could be a tough act for Davis, though, considering the level of talent residing among American League outfielders.
The first AL voting update was released on Tuesday and the next one will be announced on June 7.
