Morris to have back surgery, eyes return this year

MIAMI — Marlins reliever Bryan Morris has opted to undergo surgery to repair a herniated disc, and the right-hander has not given up hope he can pitch late this season.
Morris on Tuesday consulted with Dr. Frank Eismont of the University of Miami Hospital, and the procedure will take place on Wednesday.
Morris went on the disabled list last Thursday with a lumbar disc herniation.
