Report: Blues, Hitchcock reach 1-year extension

The St. Louis Blues and coach Ken Hitchcock have agreed to a one-year contract extension for 2016-17, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Hitchcock also coached this season on a one-year extension after originally signing on with the Blues in November 2011. He said a year ago that he was comfortable taking the situation season by season.
“I don’t want to be signing on for a bunch of years that I know I can’t answer the bell for,” he said then.
