NCAA Men’s Golf Championships 2016: Results, Leaderboard Standings from Monday

The final eight schools in the 2016 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships are set after stroke play concluded Monday in Eugene, Oregon.

The Oregon Ducks’ Aaron Wise was able to hold on to his third-round lead to win the individual title at five under par overall. The USC Trojans’ Rico Hoey made a late push, but he was unable to complete the comeback, finishing at three under.

The tournament consisted of 30 teams before whittling down to 15 after three rounds. Monday was the fourth and final day of stroke play, with the top eight schools now set for match play to decide a champion.

The Oregon program turned in a successful day. Wise was able to win on his home course, while his Ducks secured a spot in the match-play portion of the competition.

A key to Wise’s victory was his ability to respond to adversity. He followed a bogey with a birdie on three occasions. GoDucks.com’s Rob Moseley described one such instance:
