Contreras collects offensive career highs for Triple-A Iowa

Willson Contreras had a Memorial Day to remember as he established new career high marks in home runs and RBIs to pace Triple-A Iowa in an 11-0 win against Albuquerque.
Contreras, the Cubs’ No. 2 prospect, hit a pair of home runs, including a grand slam, en route to driving in five runs in his second four-hit game (4-for-5) of the season for the Cubs. He also scored three runs in the contest.

Contreras’ first homer of the afternoon didn’t come until the bottom of the sixth inning, when he blasted a grand slam to right-center field off Isotopes reliever Ryan Carpenter in his second at-bat of the frame. He singled in his first at-bat and the Cubs ultimately scored 10 runs in the inning.
