Foot soreness no longer bothering Ortiz

BALTIMORE — Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz returned to the lineup Monday after sitting out Sunday’s series finale against the Blue Jays due to soreness in his left foot.
“He fouled a ball off that area [of his foot] on the homestand,” manager John Farrell said of Ortiz, who was also recently hit by a pitch. “You take a couple of hard shots to it, it’s going to create some soreness. It feels good enough to go today.”
