Sharks’ Nieto ‘Ready to Go’ for Game 1

PITTSBURGH — San Jose Sharks left wing Matt Nieto declared himself available for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Consol Energy Center on Monday (8 p.m. ET; NBC, CBC, TVA Sports).
“I feel I am ready to go,” Nieto said Sunday. “The coaches know that. If my name is called, I’ll be ready to go.”
Nieto has missed the past seven games after sustaining an upper-body injury against the Nashville Predators in Game 6 of the Western Conference Second Round on May 9.
“I’ve been taking part in practice for maybe the last week or so, and I am at a place where I feel really comfortable and strong and confident that if I play, I can be effective,” Nieto said.
