Red Sox DH Ortiz day-to-day with sore left foot

TORONTO — Red Sox slugger David Ortiz is day-to-day with a sore left foot that kept him out of the lineup in Boston’s 5-3 extra-inning win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday.
While X-rays on the foot were negative, Red Sox manager John Farrell was concerned enough that he didn’t use his star hitter despite many pinch-hitting opportunities in the 11th-inning victory.
