Bourn a key contributor since joining D-backs

PHOENIX — In two weeks since joining the D-backs, Michael Bourn is proving just what he wanted to — he can still play at a high level.
The D-backs were thin in outfield depth and signed the speedy veteran outfielder to a Minor League deal on May 10. He was called up to the Majors just five days later when David Peralta went on the disabled list with a wrist injury.
Bourn is becoming a solid contributor. The 33-year-old reached base four times, going 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs, two RBIs and a stolen base, in Saturday night’s 8-7 win over the Padres at Chase Field.
“I’m still settling in, I just feel that you have to make the most of your opportunity, there’s nothing else I can do more than that,” Bourn said. “I just try to go out there and play baseball.
