Klay Thompson Breaks NBA Playoff Record with 11 3-Pointers vs. Thunder
- Updated: May 29, 2016
The Golden State Warriors salvaged their historic season Saturday thanks in large part to Klay Thompson, who set an NBA playoff record with 11 trifectas, per ESPN Stats & Info.
Thompson went 11-of-18 from long distance to finish with 41 points. His Warriors came back to win 108-101 over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals.
According to Golden State’s public relations department, Thompson passed some of the game’s great shooters en route to setting the record:
Klay Thompson joins Ray Allen (twice), Vince Carter, Rex Chapman and Jason Terry as the only players to hit nine threes in a playoff game.
