Simon ejected after hitting Anderson with pitch

MILWAUKEE — In a wild sequence of events during Saturday’s game between the Reds and Brewers, the starting pitchers exchanged hit-by-pitches and Cincinnati’s Alfredo Simon was ejected for hitting Milwaukee’s Chase Anderson in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Brewers held a 2-1 lead when things got extra interesting in the top of the fourth with two outs when Simon batted with Tyler Holt on third base. Holt appeared to have a successful steal of home before Anderson, while falling off the mound, hit Simon with a pitch on the back as he appeared to square with an oddly timed bunt attempt.
Simon looked angry about being hit, which happened just as Holt was sliding safely across the plate. No warnings were issued, however, and Holt …
