Alonso lacked confidence in his MP4-31

Fernando Alonso concedes McLaren were perhaps a “little over-optimistic” in their predictions for this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix.
Alonso qualified in tenths place for the prestigious race but will line up ninth on the grid due to a penalty for Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen.
It was, however, a trying Saturday afternoon for the Spaniard who says he was lacking confidence in his car.
