… Alwande Skhosana and Ian Snyman (World number thirteen) finished sixth in their event at the 2016 BNP Paribas World Team Cup in Tokyo, Japan after a 2-1 loss to Belgium on Thursday. Competing in his first World Team Cup for South Africa, Snyman earned his first win at the International Tennis Federation (ITF)s flagship international team event over Justin Peraux from Belgium with a 6-4 5-7 7-5 victory in the opening singles rubber to put South Africa ahead. After a great win on Tuesday when South Africa dismantled Russia 2-1, 15-year-old Skhosana found Jef Vandorpe a tougher opponent, with the world number four winning the second singles rubber 6-2 6-3 to force the deciding doubles.
