Dean & DeLuca Invitational 2016: Thursday Leaderboard Scores and Highlights

Bryce Molder has the early lead at the Dean & DeLuca Invitational from Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, after shooting a six-under 64 during Thursday’s first round.   

Here is the tournament’s leaderboard after the first day of play:

Molder was able to complete his round in the early afternoon after a weather delay extended his time on the course, which began at 7 a.m. local time. He managed to hold onto the lead throughout the day, though Anirban Lahiri, Patrick Reed and Webb Simpson are lurking just one stroke behind him.

Molder’s start was nothing more than pedestrian, as he parred each of his first nine holes. But turning on to the front nine, he caught fire and birdied Nos. 1-2 and 6-9 to get to six under par. 

His red-hot finish took him by surprise, as he told PGATour.com’s Mike McAllister:
