Teixeira has cortisone shot, targeting Sunday

NEW YORK — The Yankees expect Mark Teixeira to miss at least three games after the first baseman received another cortisone shot intended to calm the neck spasms that have been affecting his play this month.
Teixeira said that this is the second time he has received a cortisone shot this month, having started to deal with the injury following a May 3-5 series against the Orioles in Baltimore. He added that an MRI taken on Wednesday showed inflammation, but no serious nerve issues.
